AMCHAM Elects New Chairman: James Kim, Country Manager of Microsoft Korea


The American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM Korea) is pleased to announce that Mr. James Kim, Country Manager of Microsoft Korea, has been elected as the new AMCHAM Chairman for 2014.  Mr. Kim has been serving as AMCHAM Vice Chairman since January 2012, and as Chairman of the AMCHAM Council on Innovation for the Future since October 2012.  Mr. Kim’s Chairmanship will become effective on January 1, 2014, at which time he will replace the incumbent Chairman Patrick Gaines (President of Boeing Korea) who has served as the Chamber’s Chairman since May 2011. The term of an AMCHAM Chairman is for one year and can be extended once.


AMCHAM Korea was founded in 1953, with a broad mandate to encourage the development of investment and trade between the Republic of Korea and the United States. AMCHAM is the largest foreign chamber in Korea with around 900 member companies with diverse interests and substantial participation in the Korean economy.
